Jim Rector Jim Rector was born in Sherman, Texas and has been a lifelong Texan. After graduating from Texas A & M University with a bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, he worked for a major electrical equipment manufacturer and moved to the Permian Basin in 1960. After working in West Texas for several years, Mr. Rector was transferred to Houston and finally to the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex. In 1980, Mr. Rector started an electrical equipment distributorship in Dallas and grew it to three locations in the next 23 years. During that time, Mr. Rector was instrumental in providing electrical expertise and equipment to many major projects such as Dallas City Hall, Dallas Hyatt Regency, Diamond Shamrock Tower, Air Trans System at DFW Airport, Ranger Stadium in Arlington, and Bess Performing Arts in Fort Worth. He also participated in numerous large airport projects in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, and Austin. Mr. Rector had many overseas projects in Saudi Arabia and Panama, including an airport project in Tocuma, Panama. In 2003, Mr. Rector moved back to Odessa where he quickly got his real estate and Broker’s license. He started Western Skies Realty in 2005. Along with his real estate business, Mr. Rector is also a residential Developer and owns Western Heritage Homes, a residential building company. Mr. Rector’s developments include Ratliff Ranch South (32 lots), Tierra Del Sol (34 lots), and Ratliff Ranch 10 (16 lots). Mr. Rector has been very busy since moving back to Odessa.
